Finding Presence in a Digital World

by Mackenzie Wolfe

Do you ever find yourself getting lost on your phone, endlessly scrolling through content you barely remember minutes later? Trapped in the routine of consuming media through a screen instead of being present within the world around you? If any of this feels familiar, Reclaim is aimed to help people like you.

Today, digital overconsumption has become a significant and overlooked problem. Many people turn to screens for comfort and entertainment, often without realizing how much time and presence they are giving away. From my observations, I found that people frequently consume content about things they love far more than actively participating in them. Reclaim challenges this pattern by encouraging users to take back their time and attention.

Reclaim is rooted in the idea that to truly feel alive, we must actively engage with the world beyond our screens. It invites people to reconnect with the interests that once brought them joy, the passions that fueled their curiosity as children, and the activities that made time fly by. By replacing passive scrolling with meaningful experiences, Reclaim promotes presence, mindfulness, and fulfillment. The goal is simple yet powerful. Shift from virtual consumption to real-life participation.

Research supports this approach through the concept of social prescribing, which highlights the positive impact of community involvement, creative activities, and shared experiences on mental health, physical well-being, and overall happiness. Reclaim applies this idea by using the content people already engage with online as a starting point. What someone likes, watches, or saves can reveal what they care about in real life.

Reclaim connects those interests directly to opportunities for involvement. Instead of liking cooking videos, users are encouraged to attend a local cooking class. Rather than watching clips of musicians, they can discover a free community concert. As an alternative to scrolling through workout routines, they might join a running club or fitness group nearby. By bringing these opportunities straight to users, Reclaim makes it easier than ever to step away from the screen and into real experiences.

At its core, Reclaim is about reconnection. With passions, with community, and with oneself. It’s about choosing to be intentional with the time we are given.

Reconnect with yourself and reclaim your life. We are excited to bring Reclaim to life.
